GSK Scholars Programme 2025-26

The goal of GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals Ltd.`s (GSK Pharma) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, the GSK Scholars Program, is to assist academically worthy students from low-income families in pursuing an MBBS degree. The initiative is in line with India`s broader goals of advancing STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education and improving healthcare.

First-year MBBS students enrolled in government medical colleges are entitled to receive financial aid of up to INR 1,00,000 annually for a maximum of 4.5 years under this scheme, which would cover necessary educational costs for the duration of their studies. More than 300 MBBS scholars have received support from the GSK Scholar Program to date, demonstrating GSK`s ongoing dedication to promoting fair access to medical education in India.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Students must be enrolled in the first year of an MBBS programme at a government medical college.
  • Applicants must have secured at least 65% marks in their Class 12 board examination.
  • The annual family income of applicants must be below INR 6,00,000 from all sources.
  • The scholarship is open to Indian nationals only.
  • Children of employees of GSK Pharma and Buddy4Study are not eligible to apply.
Benefit
  • Up to INR 1,00,000 per year for 4.5 years

Selection Process

The selection process follows a multi-stage evaluation designed to identify deserving students based on their academic performance and financial need. The steps include:

  • Shortlisting of candidates on the basis of academic merit and family income
  • Verification of documents submitted by shortlisted applicants
  • A telephonic interview with the shortlisted candidates after successful document verification
